WARTER WALKS (2021) by Nigel Bartram

The following are recordings made in my studio on my Yamaha piano. Bringing them together reflects my wide and diverse interest in the piano. By recording them I also feel they have a reached a standard ready for performance if required.

FROM YELLOW TO YELLOW (1989) by Graham Fitkin

This is an early piano work by the composer who I much admire. I love the arpeggiated extended chords and the shifting time signatures.

CHILDREN’S SONG NO.6 (1971) by Chick Corea

This is the first recording in a larger Chick Corea ‘Children’s songs’ project. I love the combination of folk melody meets jazz in these pieces. As the composer says they lend themselves nicely to expansion which is why I include a little improvising as a coda to the piece.

Kolding (2008)

This piece belongs to a number of piano fantasy style of piece I have written. The piece was inspired by a day spent by a like in Kolding, Denmark during a visit made by my local choir. This place spoke to me of peace and tranquility. The composition reflects the calm and ecstacy I felt here. The performance was part of a concert by the electro-Acoustic ensemble at the Ferens gallery in Hull.
